The Australian Childcare Alliance's (ACA) Proudly Independent, Proudly Local campaign is gaining momentum across Australia, celebrating the important contribution of independent early learning services to their local communities.
Launched nationally on 18 August 2026, the campaign raises awareness of the unique value of independently owned and operated early childhood education and care (ECEC) services, while highlighting the importance of maintaining a diverse and sustainable early learning sector.
In just two months, the campaign has generated more than 144,000 combined website and social media views, including over 130,000 views on Facebook alone.
Independent services getting behind the campaign
One of the most encouraging aspects of the campaign has been the enthusiastic response from ACA members across Australia.
Independent service providers have been proudly displaying campaign stickers and posters at their services, taking photographs and sharing them across social media, raising the profile with families and helping to spread the message within their local communities.
These contributions are helping to build a growing collection of stories and images that showcase the people, relationships and community connections at the heart of independent early learning.
Keeping the momentum going
The ACA is encouraging independent early learning providers across Australia to continue getting involved by displaying campaign materials, sharing their stories and celebrating what makes their services special.
Every photograph, story and social media post helps amplify the campaign's message and raise awareness of the important role independent services play in Australia's early childhood education and care sector.
